There were scenes of grief and sadness among residents of Zokoli when the 8 persons who were killed on Wednesday were laid to rest. <\/p>\n

The 8 persons were killed by angry armed local men after the Community came under attack on Wednesday in a suspected reprisal attack. <\/p>\n

The 8 persons believed to be Fulanis were killed following the killing of a teacher by suspected armed robbers on the Yendi-Saboba road when he was on his way to School. <\/p>\n

The killing of the teacher who was a Konkomba by tribe angered some of his tribe mates who attacked the Fulani Community on suspecion that, the robbers who killed the teacher were of Fulani extraction. <\/p>\n

The attackers quickly moved to the Community and starting killing members amidst the burning down of their houses. <\/p>\n

In the process, 8 members of the Zokoli Community were killed and several others were injured in the process of the unprovoked attack. <\/p>\n

The 8 persons have been buried in line with Islamic customs. <\/p>\n
