<\/div>\nThe 37-year-old royal \u2013 who is married to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 40, and has Archie, 2, and 10-month-old Lili with her \u2013 spoke of how he chats to his son about his future ambitions and revealed that Archie often changes his mind between being an astronaut or a pilot.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 5th Invictus Games in the Netherlands on Saturday, he said: \u201cWhen I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it\u2019s an astronaut, other days it\u2019s a pilot \u2013 a helicopter pilot obviously \u2013 or Kwazii from (children\u2019s TV series) \u201cOctonauts\u201d. If you\u2019re laughing, then you\u2019ve seen that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Duke of Sussex \u2013 who abandoned royal duties back in 2020 and now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and children \u2013 went on to explain that he always reminds Archie that \u201ccharacter\u201d is the most important thing in life and that he and Meghan \u201ccouldn\u2019t be prouder\u201d of the character their son is becoming.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cBut what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it\u2019s your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elsewhere at the ceremony, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex also gave a speech, where she expressed her gratitude at being welcomed at the games and offered her support to those suffering in Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cWe are so grateful to the Netherlands for welcoming us and hosting the Invictus Games. For each team, my husband and I both recognise it\u2019s been a lot to get here, both physically and emotionally, not least of which for the Ukraine team, whom we are all standing with.\u201d<\/p>\n
