Others have said\u00a0SpaceX\u00a0may eventually be the most highly valued company in the world \u2013 in any industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Jonas said SpaceX\u2019s Starship reusable rockets that could take people and cargo to the moon and Mars had the potential to transform investor expectations around the space industry.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cAs one client put it, \u2018talking about space before Starship is like talking about the internet before Google.\u2019\u201dhttps:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/email\/form\/plaintone\/business-todaySign up to the daily Business Today email or follow Guardian Business on Twitter at @BusinessDesk<\/p>\n<p>Jonas estimates that the privately held SpaceX could be worth $200bn (\u00a3145bn), and rise higher still as it exploits a range of potential industries, including space infrastructure, Earth observation and deep-space exploration.<\/p>\n<p>The company was valued at $100bn in\u00a0a secondary share sale this month, making it the world\u2019s second-biggest privately held company, behind the internet firm ByteDance. Musk owns roughly 48% of SpaceX.<\/p>\n<p>Musk overtook\u00a0Amazon\u2019s Jeff Bezos\u00a0to become the world\u2019s richest person in January, only to slip back before regaining the top spot later in the year.
