{"id":1055381,"date":"2022-04-13T17:54:24","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T17:54:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/13\/substantive-black-stars-coach-to-be-named-soon\/"},"modified":"2022-04-13T17:54:24","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T17:54:24","slug":"substantive-black-stars-coach-to-be-named-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/13\/substantive-black-stars-coach-to-be-named-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Substantive Black Stars coach to be named soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"483\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Capture-2-696x483.png\"   alt=\"Henry Asante Twum\" title=\"Henry Asante Twum\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Henry Asante Twum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, says the GFA will soon announce the appointment of a substantive coach for the Black Stars.<\/p>\n<p>The senior national team is currently without a coach.<\/p>\n<p>The Otto Addo-led technical team that masterminded Ghana\u2019s qualification to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup was dissolved immediately after the two-legged tie against Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Addo and his assistants were contracted to take charge of the team just for the World Cup playoff against Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Coach Otto Addo is a hot favourite to take up the job after President Akufo-Addo tasked the GFA to appoint the Borussia Dortmund coach and the rest of his technical team, at least for the Qatar World Cup, which takes place in November this year.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Kickoff Show on Luv Fm, Henry Asante Twum stressed that negotiations are ongoing with relevant stakeholders on the appointment of a new coach.<\/p>\n<p>He is hopeful an announcement will be made soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not think it will take much time. They are in communication with the individuals concerned, having regular discussions with their employers, and many factors are being considered. But, again, the Government of Ghana is the employer of the coach of the Black Stars and here is the case where we had four coaches qualifying us for the World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of contractual engagement, a lot will go into it, so it\u2019s tough to discuss these things.
