{"id":1055080,"date":"2022-04-13T13:49:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T13:49:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/13\/ivory-coast-part-ways-with-head-coach-patrice-beaumelle\/"},"modified":"2022-04-13T13:49:03","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T13:49:03","slug":"ivory-coast-part-ways-with-head-coach-patrice-beaumelle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/13\/ivory-coast-part-ways-with-head-coach-patrice-beaumelle\/","title":{"rendered":"Ivory Coast part ways with head coach Patrice Beaumelle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"685\" height=\"450\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/image_2022-04-13_084256593.png\"   alt=\"Patrice Beaumelle\" title=\"Patrice Beaumelle\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Ivory Coast\u2019s Football Federation (FIF) has decided against renewing the contract of national team coach Patrice Beaumelle, whose original deal ended last week.<\/p>\n<p>The 43-year-old failed to lead the Elephants to the play-offs for the 2022 World Cup, with the West Africans suffering a last-16 exit at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Two-time African champions Ivory Coast were\u00a0beaten by Egypt on penalties\u00a0following a 0-0 draw in Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>After failing to progress from their World Cup qualifying group, Frenchman Beaumelle accused world governing body Fifa of\u00a0\u201ckilling African football\u201d\u00a0by only allowing five spots for the continent at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Beaumelle, who was assistant to Herve Renard when the Ivorians won the Nations Cup in 2015, had been in charge of the side since March 2020.<\/p>\n<p>He previously had a stint in charge of Zambia, having also served as Renard\u2019s assistant with the Chipolopolo.<\/p>\n<p>A normalisation committee, installed by Fifa, is running FIF ahead of\u00a0presidential elections on 23 April\u00a0and announced the decision on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe committee salutes [Beaumelle\u2019s] human qualities, commitment, professionalism, humility and discretion,\u201d a statement on the FIF website said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile welcoming the open-mindedness of the French technician and the good collaboration with the FIF, the committee wishes him a happy continuation of his career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ivory Coast become the latest African country to part company with their boss, with Burkina Faso and Mali also searching for new coaches.<\/p>\n<p>The Elephants await the draw for the group stage of qualifying for the 2023 Nations Cup \u2013 a tournament Ivory Coast is set to host \u2013 which will take place on Tuesday, 19 April.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"tYqki7NQAOc\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Adom TV News (12-4-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tYqki7NQAOc?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ivory Coast\u2019s Football Federation (FIF) has decided against renewing the contract of national team coach Patrice Beaumelle, whose original deal ended last week.
