The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has banned the St Martins School park, Daboase indefinitely with immediate effect.<\/p>\n
This decision was taken following assault on the officials and players of FC Samartex 1996 by the home supporters in the Division zone League match between Skyy FC and FC Samartex on Sunday, April 3, 2022.<\/p>\n
The Competitions Department of the GFA will now fix the venues for the upcoming home matches of Skyy FC with due regard to the distance to be travelled by the away teams.<\/p>\n
Below is the letter sent to the Club:<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The\u00a0seminars and meetings\u00a0on\u00a0Safety and\u00a0Security\u00a0at match venues are organised by the Ghana\u00a0Football\u00a0Association (GFA)\u00a0for clubs\u00a0and the GFA Regulations on Safety and Security refer.<\/p>\n It is against this background of the efforts invested in\u00a0promoting\u00a0the\u00a0safety and security at our matches that the Association is shocked and extremely alarmed at the criminal\u00a0assaults on\u00a0some officials and players of the\u00a0away team, FC Samartex 1996 before, during and\u00a0after\u00a0the\u00a0Division One League match\u00a0by\u00a0your\u00a0home supporters\u00a0at the St Martins School park, Daboase\u00a0on Sunday,\u00a0April\u00a03, 2022.<\/p>\n The Executive Council\u00a0has accordingly exercised its powers under Article 14(2) of the\u00a0Division One\u00a0League Regulations and has banned the venue indefinitely.<\/p>\n 14(2)\u200b\u201cThe GFA may order the closure of any league centre\/venue where the safety of clubs, match officials and\/or spectators cannot be guaranteed\u201d.<\/p>\n READ ALSO<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0GFA Prosecutors have been tasked to prefer the appropriate\u00a0Charges immediately\u00a0and\u00a0for the disciplinary Committee\u00a0to\u00a0sit on this matter expeditiously.<\/p>\n The GFA\u00a0demands\u00a0that\u00a0Skyy\u00a0Football\u00a0Club\u00a0shall immediately assist the Police to cause the arrest of the persons involved in\u00a0the\u00a0attack, without fail, in accordance with the promise given by the clubs to the Inspector General of Police in our engagement with the leadership of the Ghana Police Service.<\/p>\n The Association has instructed the Competitions Department to fix the venues for the upcoming home matches of\u00a0Skyy\u00a0FC with due regard to the distance to be travelled by the away teams (note that matches can be fixed at the home of the away team if required).<\/p>\n That all clubs are to take note and comply\u00a0strictly with the GFA Matchday\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0Protocols\u00a0and the Safety & Security\u00a0regulations.<\/p>\n The GFA wishes to sound a\u00a0strong\u00a0note of caution to all members\u00a0(especially\u00a0all\u00a0clubs) that the slightest harassment or attack on\u00a0Club Officials, Supporter, Team Officials, players,\u00a0Match Officials (Referees, Match Commissioners, GFA Cameramen & Women, Venue Media Officers) and\u00a0the media\u00a0shall be dealt with severely and\u00a0swiftly. \u00a0<\/p>\n Also, any comments from any player,\u00a0team\u00a0or club official and\u00a0club social media\u00a0handles which incites supporters against match officials shall be dealt with\u00a0as well.<\/p>\n There shall be zero tolerance\u00a0for\u00a0violence and incitement to violence in our game, especially in this second round of the leagues.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nIrate Skyy FC fans attack Samartex FC officials [Photos]<\/h4>\n
