In the age of online\u00a0dating, having a profile on a dating\u00a0app\u00a0while you\u2019re in a\u00a0relationship\u00a0isn\u2019t automatically a sign of anything malicious \u2013 especially if the account has been unused for a while.<\/p>\n
But what if you had an\u00a0active dating profile\u00a0that was in use just one month before you were due to get married?<\/p>\n
That\u2019s what one man on\u00a0Reddit\u00a0has seemingly found after he accidentally stumbled across a Bumble profile for one of his best friends, who is set to tie the knot in May, just over one month away.<\/p>\n
In\u00a0his post, the man explained he was told about the profile by another friend before going to check it out himself, and when he confronted the 31-year-old woman about her account, she lied to him about its origins.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n He said: \u201cA close friend of mine for years is engaged to a guy who I really like and is getting married in May.<\/p>\n \u201cYesterday, a friend of mine found her on Bumble and texted me screenshots. I sent them to her asking if there is something I should know, and she replied that they must be from when she was still single and that she probably forgot to turn it off.<\/p>\n \u201cThing is, I recognise the pictures and they\u2019re recent. My girlfriend and I are even in one of them. I had spoken to her fianc\u00e9 earlier that day about bachelor party plans and everything sounded like it was very much still on.\u201d<\/p>\n The man now wonders if his friend is \u201chaving second thoughts\u201d about the marriage, and is unsure of whether or not to approach her fianc\u00e9 with the dating app evidence.<\/p>\n He added: \u201cSome of our friends have joked that she can do better \u2013 she\u2019s really, really attractive and makes great money, while he\u2019s very much the blue-collar type. <\/p>\n But he treats her like a princess, a big upgrade from the boys she\u2019s dated in the past. I get the feeling she\u2019s having second thoughts and looking around again.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m kind of conflicted on whether or not I should bring this up, and if I do, whether I should talk to her or him about it. <\/p>\n She\u2019s a close friend and if things don\u2019t work out, it\u2019s her side that I\u2019ll take. But I\u2019ve been in toxic relationships before and can\u2019t help but think I\u2019d feel very guilty if he marries her next month without knowing she\u2019s not fully invested.\u201d<\/p>\n Commenters on the Reddit post suggested the man tell his friend\u2019s partner what he found, as while it might hurt the groom-to-be in the short-term, he\u2019ll appreciate being told.<\/p>\n One person said: \u201cI know plenty of people might say stay out of it and I understand that to some degree, but all I can think is that if I were that guy I would hope someone would tell me that information before I got married to a person like her.\u201d<\/p>\n While another added: \u201cHe deserves to be able to make an informed choice.
