{"id":1022652,"date":"2022-03-15T20:38:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-15T20:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/03\/15\/why-black-stars-squad-for-nigeria-games-has-delayed\/"},"modified":"2022-03-15T20:38:30","modified_gmt":"2022-03-15T20:38:30","slug":"why-black-stars-squad-for-nigeria-games-has-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/03\/15\/why-black-stars-squad-for-nigeria-games-has-delayed\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Black Stars squad for Nigeria games has delayed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"470\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FJadQ1FXIAMxEFw-1.jpg\"   alt=\"Black Stars\" title=\"Black Stars\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Black Stars<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Tony Aubyn, has revealed the decision why the Black Stars\u00a0squad to face Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup playoffs is yet to be released.<\/p>\n<p>With less than two weeks to the much-anticipated game, the technical team of the national team is yet to announce the squad for the crucial games.<\/p>\n<p>However, Dr Aubyn said\u00a0the announcement of the squad has been delayed at the discretion of the technical team.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the\u00a0Black Stars\u00a0management committee backed the decision by the technical team to stall the announcement.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason why the squad has not been released is a technical decision backed by management,\u201d Dr Aubyn told Accra based <strong>Starr FM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recently formed the technical team and the management team and I\u2019m sure they have a reason why and they have their own timelines. It is for a good reason,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although he is part of the Exco, Tony Aubyn said he has no clue as to when the squad will be announced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cannot explain though I\u2019m in the EXCO. We have given them the responsibility to the technical team.
