When will the President of the Republic of South Africa be bold enough to root out corruption starting at the very top. These are the men and women that he entrusts with the lives of South African citizens. The rot in President Cyril Ramaphosa\u2019s Cabinet is deeper than we think.The latest culprit to be implicated in some corrupt activities is Minister Gwede Mantashe.<\/p>\n

The third part of the State Capture Commission of Inquiry has found that Energy Minister and former ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe benefited from Bosasa\u2019s \u201ccorrupt modus operandi\u201d. According to the newly released part of the State Capture report, the had installed CCTV cameras at his homes in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg and Cala in the Eastern Cape.<\/p>\n

The latest volume of the report deals exclusively with Bosasa and spans nearly 1 000 pages.<\/p>\n

No surprises there, Gwede even saw it coming, hence he\u2019s been preaching that ANC must not use Zondo report to persecute its members rather let it be used to pursue unity. Mantashe has always been a slippery \u201csnake\u201d. He must be fired, then prosecuted and be thrown into prison! No favors!<\/p>\n

When the previous report of the state Capture was released, Mantashe said he is unperturbed by the State Capture Inquiry report\u2019s damaging characterisation of the evidence he provided when testifying. Mantashe said he wasn\u2019t surprised that his name appeared in the report \u2013 and added that he expected it to appear several times in the final instalment as well.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has granted the State Capture Inquiry another two months to complete its work \u2013 and President Cyril Ramaphosa will have four months to respond to the final part of the inquiry\u2019s report. In court papers, Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, who chairs the inquiry, said he expected to hand over the final part of the report, findings relating to Eskom, Bosasa and the State Security Agency, to Ramaphosa at the end of February.<\/p>\n

Now let\u2019s see if the \u201cstep-down\u201d is applied to this corrupt ringleader of Ramaphosa\u2019s own faction. Will Mantashe step down?<\/p>\n
