{"id":1006078,"date":"2022-02-28T12:22:51","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T12:22:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/28\/national-labour-conference-underway-at-kwahu-nkwatia\/"},"modified":"2022-02-28T12:22:51","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T12:22:51","slug":"national-labour-conference-underway-at-kwahu-nkwatia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/28\/national-labour-conference-underway-at-kwahu-nkwatia\/","title":{"rendered":"National Labour Conference underway at Kwahu-Nkwatia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 17px;\">\n                                                   Accra, Feb.28, GNA &#8211; A two-day National Labour Conference by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and its Tripartite Constituents is underway at Kwahu-Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/1.21423163.jpeg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/1.21423162.jpeg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gna.org.gh\/\" width=\"undefined\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The conference is to reinforce a tripartite conversation on the dynamics and happenings on the labour front.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The conference, which is on the theme, &#8220;Strengthening Tripartism for Peaceful Labour Relations and Resilient Economy,&#8221;\u00a0 is expected to end with the adoption of a road map and a communique that will inform and shape Government&#8217;s approach for the resolution of labour issues for national development.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">It will be opened by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">A technical presentation will\u00a0 be made by the Minister for Finance,\u00a0 Mr Ken Ofori-Atta on \u201cThe State of the Economy,\u201d for discussions to proceed on the concerns of workers and employers in the public sector in relation to economic realities.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Participants will, subsequently, agree on ways to collaborate on measures to address the concerns.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Issues that will dominate the discussions include the State of the Economy, Conditions of Service of Public Sector Workers, Public Sector Salaries, Labour Productivity, Labour Dispute Prevention and Resolution, and Sustainable Pensions for all.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The Conference will provide a unique opportunity for the various actors to exchange views and ideas on the thematic areas and emerging issues in a changing world of work to promote a positive and proactive approach to resolving labour issues for national development.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">\u00a0The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah, and other social partners, will also address the conference at the Rock City Hotel.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Participants include representatives of Government, Organised Labour, Employers, media organisations and other stakeholders.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Kwahuhene and President of the Kwahu Traditional Council is chairing the conference.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">It will be officially closed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accra, Feb.28, GNA &#8211; A two-day National Labour Conference by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and its Tripartite Constituents is underway at Kwahu-Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.
