That is why I am today giving trustees of Chelsea\u2019s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that currently, they are in the best position to look after the interests of the club, players, staff, and fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abramovich one of Russia\u2019s richest people and believed to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin added: \u201cDuring my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always viewed my role as a custodian of the club, whose job it is ensuring that we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future, while also playing a positive role in our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is not know yet if Abramovich will be sanctioned as part of the UK government\u2019s measures against Russia.<\/p>\n<p>BBC Sport understands that Chelsea is not for sale and the \u00a31.5bn loan their owner gave to the club is not being called in.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week,\u00a0Labour\u2019s Chris Bryant told MPs\u00a0he had a leaked Home Office document which suggested Abramovich should not be able to base himself in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Downing Street would not be drawn on the claims about Abramovich made in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel had said on Friday\u00a0that there were \u201cso many uncertainties around the situation of our club\u201d following Russia\u2019s invasion of a neighbouring country.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"592ZQ6i_gHA\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Black Stars Tech.
