{"id":1005052,"date":"2022-02-26T19:55:44","date_gmt":"2022-02-26T19:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/26\/pupils-at-ad-lazarus-school-in-durban-displaying-ancestral-calling-disrupt-learning\/"},"modified":"2022-02-26T19:55:44","modified_gmt":"2022-02-26T19:55:44","slug":"pupils-at-ad-lazarus-school-in-durban-displaying-ancestral-calling-disrupt-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/26\/pupils-at-ad-lazarus-school-in-durban-displaying-ancestral-calling-disrupt-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"Pupils at AD Lazarus School in Durban displaying \u2019ancestral calling\u2019 disrupt learning."},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<p>Pupils were dismissed early from school when several students demonstrated ancestral calling.<\/p>\n<p>An educational disruption has occurred at a Durban school after students started expressing signs of \u201cancestral calling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AD Lazarus Secondary School on New Germany Road, Reservoir Hills, said in a letter that an urgent decision was made to discharge students with immediate effect from the school.<\/p>\n<p>According to the school, \u201cthe reason for this urgent decision is that some students are showing signs of ancestral calling, which has gotten out of hand and is causing disruptions in learning and instruction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The school urged students to show compassion and empathy in this situation.<\/p>\n<p>In order to safeguard the safety of our students, we are taking every precaution possible under the circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>As Rodney Moodley, of Inkosi Security, said, the  was stationed outside the school, keeping an eye on the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Moodley said that parents were racing to the school to pick up their children from the school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the time being, though, everything is peaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kwazi Mthethwa, a spokesman for the Agency of Education in KwaZulu-Natal, said that the department does not discriminate against any students.
