A carer, who is engaged to a man 32 years older than her, says people think they\u2019re dad and daughter \u2013 but they have an amazing sex life.<\/p>\n
Carer Jessica Hockings, 26, met 58-year-old Dermot Murray at work last February after he\u2019d had a \u201cfling\u201d with one of her friends.<\/p>\n
As the pair spent time together, taking late-night drives and walking Jessica\u2019s dogs, they quickly fell for each other.<\/p>\n
By April, they were in an official relationship \u2013 but hid it from their loved ones at first for fear of judgement.<\/p>\n

However, the secret-keeping proved too much for Jessica who just wanted to hold Dermot\u2019s hand in public, and she soon announced the relationship.<\/p>\n
Jessica from Mumby, Lincolnshire, said: \u201cI didn\u2019t want to know [Dermot] at first. I don\u2019t have a lot of trust in men so to me it was very daunting.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the lady I worked with on the evenings had a fling with him for a couple of months then as a group of three [we] became really close friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen me and Dermot went into our own little friendship world.\u201d<\/p>\n
She described how their relationship began to progress slowly.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the shifts swapped over we used to have a cuddle and as it progressed I used to stay behind when everybody left and just spend time with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d then spend more time together when we used to go on late-night car drives,\u201d Jessica said.<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cIt started off like a dad\/daughter relationship, it was a gradual transition from that to a romantic relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Jessica was initially apprehensive about the age gap, she no longer sees it as an issue and the pair have officially been together for 10 months.<\/p>\n
In fact, the 32-year age gap means Dermot is \u201cbest friends\u201d with Jessica\u2019s 62-year-old mum \u2013 and the pair even watch TV together when Jessica is at work.<\/p>\n
And their difference in age doesn\u2019t make a difference to their sex life, which Jessica says is great.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cWe have a great sex life. Physically it\u2019s very good, he\u2019s gentle and always asks if I\u2019m alright.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair are often mistaken for dad and daughter when they\u2019re out but brush off the judgement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last time I went to hospital someone asked \u2018oh is this your dad who\u2019s brought you?\u2019 I\u2019m like \u2018no it\u2019s my partner\u2019,\u201d Jessica explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t bother us because we know that people might not understand.<\/p>\n
\u201cFamily and friends have been very supportive, which I was surprised at.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the only worry that there is is because we\u2019re in different lifetimes \u2013 when he retires I\u2019ll still be working.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair have recently been shopping for engagement rings \u2013 although Dermot hasn\u2019t officially popped the question yet.<\/p>\n
Still, Jessica is expecting a proposal from her beau \u201csoon\u201d \u2013 and she\u2019s even had her ring finger inked with a heart tattoo with Dermot\u2019s initial.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it\u2019s going to happen I don\u2019t know but he\u2019s said it\u2019s definitely going to happen at some point,\u201d Jessica said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got the tattoo because we\u2019ll be getting engaged at some point and he means the world to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cI\u2019ve never had a relationship where I\u2019ve been treated properly or loved like he does \u2013 it\u2019s all new to me.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just really nice because he\u2019s old-fashioned in the romance way and I love that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe used to write notes for each other, the odd gift now and then is really nice.<\/p>\n
\u201cCertain things he does for me now is just really sweet like he\u2019ll run a bath for me, or make me a drink or dinner \u2013 stuff like that just means a lot to me.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he leaves for work early in the morning, which he sometimes does, he leaves a note for me on the bed or I leave him a note for when I\u2019m at work.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jessica said she\u2019s happier than ever with her relationship, despite the large age difference.<\/p>\n
Jessica said: \u201cGoing out with an older man I find is so much better than [someone] my age because they have more life experience and he\u2019s just so mature and loving.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo anyone who thinks 32 years is too big a difference, I would say as long as they treat you well the age shouldn\u2019t matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
