He later on went to the legislature with his Amabutho and everyone stood in his honor as the king marched in. Even Sihle Zikalala could not continue with his address he had to let her King march in and sit at his chair and then he began his business. His roll was noticed yesterday anyone who denies his kingship must have a serious problem. The event was slightly derailed and the King had to announce his arrival, and the inyosi could not help it but praised the King. He uttered the praises and everyone watched in awe.

The speaker of the legislature Ntombeko Boyce announced that the se facto King Misuzulu has been invited but will not be able to address the house until he is official coronated. This was the arrangement when they meet the King with the delegation of all political parties from the legislature. When Sihke stood up to speak on the podium and give the State of the Province Address, an EFF member of the provincial legislature stood up and demanded answers regarding the presence of the King. The chip whip for ANC Super Zuma said Khoza was misleading the house and he should be investigated.

When everyone was still digesting Khoza’s stunt sirens were heard outside. That was the Zulu King’s convoy who escorted his singing and high-spirited Zulu regiments arriving at the legislature. The regiments singing was so loud that even Zikalala. and Boyce heard it. The premier halted his speech and let the King and his regiments make their grand entrance and his praiser could not be silent but sang the prayers to the envy of the contenders.

The premier himself before resuming his speech gave the King the customary royal salute for all reigning Kings and said Wena Wendlovu, Wena Wendlovu Bayede. The King took a seat in front of Zikalala and the proceedings of the day went on, with the King listening with his first wife, Queen Ntokozo Mayisela-Zulu. After the address, opposition parties slated Zikalala and the ANC-controlled legislature for its handling of the matter.

The president of the IFP, Velenkosini Hlabisa, was particularly scathing, saying the matter was badly handled, and it brought back bad memories of how the apartheid government nearly wiped out the monarchy through such behavior. Hlabisa said he was disappointed that they invited the King Salute him as Bayede but behave as if he is not part of the gathering. Halbisa said the silencing of his majesty is unfortunate with our new democracy system. Everyone is aware of where he is coming from and where the traditional institution had been undermined by the apartheid system.

Khoza of the EFF said the ANC-controlled legislature was being mischievous by saying technically there is no King, as they were heard shouting the Bayede salute meaning they recognize him. Khoza asked and said Bayede to who, and described them as hypocrites and told them that everyone knows we have a King. It is just a question of a technicality where colonialism said somebody must sign some paper. The leader of the DA in KZN, Francois Rodgers, said they all agreed on the King who is regarded as Prince was confusing. Seeing the King arriving and being greeted as an official royalty one wonders whether there is party politics involved from the ANC because they say one thing in the legislature and when it comes to events of this nature it’s a 360 turn. Zikalala is confused he wants to go with the King’s supporters and when he is with the rebels he wants to fit in as well.

Important message: Please share, comment and follow me.

Source:https://www.iol.co.za/news/politics/zulu-king-issue-haunts-kwazulu-natal-legislature-during-sopa-5c0998f9-d71c-48b0-af3c-5b15a8210ef0

Content created and supplied by: BhejangethunaAfrocentricNews (via Opera
News )

    , . , .
