{"id":1002829,"date":"2022-02-24T12:11:24","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/24\/covid-19-expenditure-ato-forson-to-re-file-motion-for-probe\/"},"modified":"2022-02-24T12:11:24","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:11:24","slug":"covid-19-expenditure-ato-forson-to-re-file-motion-for-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/24\/covid-19-expenditure-ato-forson-to-re-file-motion-for-probe\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid-19 expenditure: Ato Forson to re-file motion for probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"553\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/ECFA9839-5DD6-4FFD-8A25-F55B4F3B3FD9-696x553.jpeg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Ato Forson\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Ranking Member on the Finance Committee in Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced his intention to file for the second time, a motion to constitute a bipartisan committee\u00a0to probe government\u2019s Covid-19 expenditure.<\/p>\n<p>His previous motion had been admitted by Speaker Alban Bagbin but was later dismissed by First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu who argued that the motion ought not to have been admitted in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>But Speaker Alban Babgin has described Joseph Osei-Owusu\u2019s ruling as unconstitutional, illegal and offensive.<\/p>\n<p>He said the action by the First Deputy Speaker is a penchant to overturn his ruling.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Top Story<\/strong>, Wednesday, Cassiel Ato Forson said he will re-file the motion before the House on Thursday, February 24. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope to have a meeting with the leadership of the Minority Caucus tomorrow [Thursday] morning and if all is well, tomorrow I will be able to file the motion again.
