The reason for their nationwide shutting down is strictly because of the employment of foreign nationals in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>The struggle against foreigners residing in South Africa has become a national issue which has led to many movements coming out to speak against the influx of foreigners in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA local truck drivers\u2019 movement will down tools in a nationwide shutdown on Sunday over the employment of foreign nationals in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some people most especially South Africans have reacted to this in various ways, take a look at some of their responses below;<\/p>\n<p>@EphraimManamela tweeted,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSouth African trucks must be driven by South African drivers, period, it\u2019s happening in Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, etc, it must happen in mzanzi as well, they must park trucks in freeways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@Justjanny58 tweeted,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd what good does it do to the economy and how much money do shop owners etc lose and this results in more job losses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@bboy_zoid tweeted,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s the thing about the trucking industry, they all employ \u201cforeign nationals\u201d wherever you go in the world. Majority of drivers in Canada are from Bangladesh, the UK was full of East Europeans, this very website was promoting \u201cmillion per annum\u201d truck driving jobs in the USA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>@gwala_phelelani tweeted,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t want foreign drivers to work in the SA trucking industry, they can bring or collect goods with trucks from their own countries we don\u2019t have a problem with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0@JasonHol84 tweeted,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m guessing the foreign nationals will be driving and not striking, makes you wonder why someone would employ them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What do you have to say concerning this matter?
