Lufuno Nevondwe, a legal expert, says that Ace Magashule\u2019s political career won\u2019t be harmed by the fact that his corruption trial has been postponed until June 10.<\/p>\n

The RET comrade was suspended from his job last year, and his supporters say that the ANC has treated him unfairly by not reviewing his suspension after six months, as was agreed to at the start of the process.<\/p>\n

A lawyer for Lufuno Nevondwe says that the National Prosecuting Authority\u2019s decision to put Magashule on trial shows that they have a strong case against him. The suspended secretary general says that there is no case because the NPA hasn\u2019t been able to produce a witness for two years.<\/p>\n

In spite of this, it is said that his political career won\u2019t be harmed by the fact that he still has a chance to run for president at the ANC\u2019s annual meeting in December.<\/p>\n

Cyril Ramaphosa has already been approved to run for a second term by comrades in Limpopo province and the North West. It is said that if branches nominate Ace Magashule to run against Ramaphosa, he will be back in the presidential race.<\/p>\n

Ace Magashule is most likely going to run for office at the conference because he is not the only comrade with a court case. ANC comrades who were part of the VBS looting and corruption scandal, like Danny Msiza, have been nominated for top jobs in Limpopo province. They were chosen by their branches.<\/p>\n

In Mangaung, in the Free State province, RET comrades came out in force to support Ace Magashule at the Bloemfontein High Court. They also hinted that Magashule will be running for office in December.<\/p>\n

They say they\u2019re coming in huge numbers to the polls in December, and they want to stop president Cyril Ramophosa through the ballot box. Nevondwe, a lawyer, says that Magashule has the same rights as everyone else at the upcoming national conference.<\/p>\n
