Two police officers are allegedly on the run after a deadly attempted theft, according to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">They are among nine suspects who escaped after a Monday afternoon shootout between officers and alleged cash-in-transit (CIT) theft suspects. A total of eight robbers were slain. Police officers\u2019 involvement in nefarious activities comes at a time when the public has little faith in the SAPS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">The Hawks detained two officers from the crime intelligence section last week on suspicion of engaging in criminal activity with a group of four to six people accused of committing robberies in Gauteng. The Botswana national, one of ten individuals apprehended, is suspected of being involved in multiple cash-in-transit (CIT) heists across the country, according to Langa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><span class=\"ql-cursor\">\ufeff<\/span><\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/f9ce640ec4654616950181de4931b703\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">She claimed the man was termed a CIT mastermind and was apprehended after months of having eluded capture. \u201cThe Botswana suspect is a cash-in-transit mastermind in South Africa. He has been a wanted criminal for a long time, and they were finally able to apprehend him \u201cLanga said.
