Brighton and Hove albion pulled one back after Kaoru Mitoma scored a brilliant goal from Pascal Gross’ assist. There was no hope for a come back at this point as Arsenal were completely in control of the match. Gabriel Martinelli extended Arsenal’s lead to 4-1 with Martin Odegaard providing an assist for the goal. Evan Ferguson made it 4-2 for Brighton as they kept pushing to narrow the score line.

City defender John Stones said: “I feel like we’ve lost two points. It’s difficult to take.
“We controlled the game for the majority of the time and had a lot of chances. It was a bit of a scrappy game.”
Second-placed City are four points behind leaders Arsenal, who play their game in hand against Brighton at 17:30 BST on Saturday.
Everton are 16th in the table, two points above the relegation zone.

Some churches in major towns in the country have mounted gigantic billboards and posters ahead of the December 31, 2022 watch night services.
In their quest to promote their churches and attract new members on the night, some churches spend huge sums of money to mount these billboards.
While some churches print artworks announcing the programmes scheduled for the 31st-night vigil, others resort to erecting huge, medium, and small billboards.
The churches, Pentecostal, Orthodox, Charismatic, and spiritual try as much as they can to place their billboards at vantage points in town.
Most of the churches over the years are filled to capacity during this night and Saturday’s church services across the country will not be an exception, as many will throng the various churches to cross over to 2023.
31st nights mostly witness people who have not been in church for a very long time visiting churches to worship with them no matter the denomination.
Church members use the opportunity to thank and praise God for keeping and protecting them throughout the outgoing year and also spend the few hours of the new year in the presence of God.
The churches coin some interesting themes for the 31st-night services. Some of the themes include: Crossing Over into my year of fruitfulness, jumping over, crossing over to 2023, about to cross over, escaping into 2023, and let’s transition into 2023, amongst others.
Most of the watch night services last from 8pm -1am.

Dec. 31 (UPI) — North Carolina State radio broadcaster Gary Hahn has been suspended for remarks he made about “illegal aliens” during the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Friday, his employer said.
Learfield Communications said Hahn had been suspended indefinitely after the game between the North Carolina State Wolfpack and Maryland Terrapins, ESPN and the Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer reported.
“Learfield has suspended Wolfpack Sports Network play-by-play announcer Gary Hahn indefinitely following comments made during today’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl radio broadcast,” General Manager, Kyle Winchester said in a statement sent to media outlets.
During the broadcast Hahn can be heard saying, “Down among all the illegal aliens in El Paso it’s UCLA leading Pitt,” while reporting the score of the Sun Bowl.
Learfield is the rights holder for N.C. State football broadcasts. Hahn has been the radio voice for the school’s football and men’s basketball teams since 1991.

The NDC’s Women’s Organiser for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, Kekeli Adanuvor, has called on the general public to support the less privileged in society, especially widows who have been abandoned.
She made the call when she donated bags of rice, cartons of frozen chicken and assorted drinks to over 310 widows in the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency on December 30, 2022.
According to Kekeli Adanuvor, the gesture forms part of her commitment to ensuring the marginalized in the constituency get to experience the joy of the festive season despite the economic challenges plaguing the country.
She said that “I got a lot of Christmas gifts from loved ones and feel like sharing with widows here. As for the economy, I don’t know what is going on but I think it is mismanagement and incompetence by the NPP-led administration.”
“I’m donating to the elderly widows selected by women groups. My target is elderly women who need help but have been neglected by society. I’m overwhelmed by their reception so far,” Madam Adanuvor added.
She also disclosed her office will soon roll out a loan disbursement scheme for female entrepreneurs to boost their businesses and help them stay afloat in these crisis moments.
The NDC Women’s Organiser stated that “we are going to give soft loans to market women and give them some grace period to repay the loan. They can also apply for more when they are able to repay on time. Again, we will also train more in entrepreneurship like hairdressing, soap making and beads making.”
On his part, Lower Manya Krobo Constituency Chairman of the NDC, John Mantey commended Kekeli Adanuvor for the gesture noting that she has brought hope to widows in the constituency.
Speaking to the media, he said, “I’m highly grateful to Kekeli for this timely donation. It will help cushion them in this economic hardship. I have been working with every directorate in the constituency and will work hard to secure victory in 2024 General election.”
