Trends likely to take over the fashion scene in 2022 Eve woman

0

As you go about your day you will notice, most people no longer want to kill themselves in tight clothing or high fashion outfits, right now it’s all about comfort and we are absolutely loving it.

The pandemic had people lounging in pajamas, staying indoors with little to no runway shows and with the high of fashion declining came the grand entrance of loungewear fashion.

With the mantra comfort first, the fashion scene has since evolved making way for trends that can resonate with most people.

And with that, here are some fashion trends you are going to see this year:

Puffer jackets

They may seem huge but trust me all worth the buzz in town. As you see people walk around in their laid back outfits, puffer jackets are to blame or thank?

They are warm and cosy and the best part is they come in a variety of colours making it easy to blend your outfits. Also an added advantage is that they are unisex, meaning you can always steal you’re your boyfriends jacket and get away with it.

Tractor trek-sole boots

These shoes are as heavy as they sound but all worth it. One, you can pair them with almost anything in your closet from sweatpants, jeans to skirts and they will automatically give your outfit the high fashion vibe.

Another plus to this trend is that they are unisex as well no heel to the boot, meaning you can simply buy a pair and share.

Sweater vests

Call our generation old-fashioned but our dads couldn’t be more proud of us right now. Vests or chests if you like are currently painting the town red and we are loving it.

These sweaters are easy, colourful and truly an all-weather wardrobe piece. As you expected, these sweaters are unisex, so steal that shirt and rock this look.

Voluminous shoulder sleeves

I don’t know anything else that speaks high fashion than these extra unmissable puffed sleeves blouses and dresses.

They are not only gorgeous but equally feminine and the best part is you can rock this look to any event. And even though the buzz may have gained momentum towards the end of the year, these sleeves are definitely making their way into 2022 runways.

Bralettes

This might just be my favourite trend this year and ladies are killing it on the streets. From reputable fashion brands, custom made ones to knitted bralettes we can’t get enough of this trend.

It pairs well with sweats, jeans and palazzo pants, let’s hope bralettes endure the test of fashion time.

Oversized blazers

Oversized blazers were hot in 2019 before the pandemic hit, still growing strong and is likely to spill over into 2022.

The best part about this blazer style is you can literally pair it with anything you want from your closet and also a bonus tip is they are unisex!

Wide leg pants

This vintage trend is back with rage and is unlikely to go away any time soon but who’s complaining?

Have you noticed how they come in a variety of colours and ladies are just soaking it in. Paired with some voluminous puffed sleeves, high fashion will have nothing on you.

Amina Muaddi heels

If there is a pair of heels ladies are currently obsessed with then the Amina Muaddi heels have it! They come in all forms and colours from clear, strappy, bold to shiny.

For obvious reasons they are comfortable, feminine and you won’t end up walking like a calf all day. However, considering how much they have populated the market, this trend may die down soon.

Phoenix pensioner strangled to death with with the belt of her nightgown

Durban: A PHOENIX pensioner was strangled to death with the belt of her nightgown in her home in Eastbury on Monday evening.

Sarawathi Mangray, 72, was found on her dining room floor by her brother. A police source who is close to the investigation said Sarawathi’s brother returned home from work to find the doors and gates open.

“He called out for his sister but there was no response. He checked in her bedroom and noticed the bedroom cupboards wide open. He continued to look for his sister and found her motionless in the dining room. She had a small wound to her right palm and the belt of her nightgown was wrapped tightly around her neck.”

The source said the only item missing at this stage was a cellphone.

“The suspects are still at large. While the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage, robbery cannot be ruled out.”

MORE ON THIS

Hansraj Mangray, one of the deceased’s sons, said his family was very saddened about his mother’s death, especially the manner in which she died.

“It was painful. She died for something so trivial as a cellphone.

“It is difficult to grieve as a family because we’re still confused about what happened. But I think once it all settles down we will be able to grieve properly,’’ said Hansraj.

He said that judging by how the crime took place, their mother might have known the killer as it seemed she opened the gate for them to enter.

“My mother had just arrived from Cape Town on December 30 after visiting her niece. When I spoke to her she was in a joyous mood as she had just celebrated New Years,” he said.

Hansraj, who is a paediatric surgeon, said that his mother was a very hard-working and determined woman.

“Growing up, my mother worked at a clothing factory in Durban, and my father was a tailor in Ajmeri Arcade in Grey Street. He was known by the Phoenix community as Bobby the Tailor. When my father lost his eyesight due to glaucoma disease, my mother took over as the sole provider for the family,” he said.

Hansraj, who also has two other brothers, one who is an engineer and another an admin clerk, said: “My mother sacrificed a lot for me and my brothers. She never asked for anything in return. She had a class 2 (Grade 2) education pass. But she educated herself as she went along in life.”

Nameshwar Sookdeo, 68, who was the younger brother of Sarawathi, said he discovered the body when he returned to the house. He said he was traumatised by the incident and was saddened about his sister’s passing.

“The day before the incident I came from work, I had a cold drink and bread. I sneezed because of the cold, and she told me to use my mask in a joking kind of way. We shared a very close bond,” said Sookdeo.

Sookdeo said that his sister loved to travel and wanted to visit India next. He said she was a member of the Saraswathi Cultural Society in Phoenix, where she studied Hindi. It was her sixth year of studying and she was passionate about her culture and wanted to further her studies.

“On Sunday I gave her a religious calendar. She was excited and read through it planning a holiday,” he said.

In her community, Sarawathi was known as a humble, respectful and religious woman who loved everyone and was devoted to her religious values.

Glen Naidoo, one of her neighbours, said: “I have known them for over 20 years now, she used to walk past in her religious attire on her way to the temple. She knew every scripture of the Ashram word for word.”

Hansraj said Sarawathi’s body was released to the family on Tuesday (January 4).

At the time of going to print her family said her funeral could be held at Clare Estate Crematorium on January 5. They were still finalising matters.

At the time of going to print the police did not give out a comment on the case.

“When I met Guardian, I was not looking for love, I was not looking to be in a relationship. How things started to change, I only say it’s God. When I was turning 50 I said to God, ‘I want to do things differently in my life and he has given me more than I asked for,” she said in part.

Guardian is never shy to display his love for Esther and at one time he revealed that the mother of three has brought him nothing but hope, love and prosperity adding that she made him believe true love exists.

“I was empty, you filled up the space. I was incomplete, you completed me. I almost gave up on my career, you came into my life when a lot of things were falling apart but within a short while, you transformed everything and brought my life into a beautiful shape. Since the first day I fell in love with you, I have always been confident that you are the one. I am proud I chose you. You have made me believe that there is true love. It is amazing how you love me. I can go on and, on my love, but for now, let me wish you blessings. Rada yako itazidi kubadilika. A year older, a year closer to my heart. I love you so much,” he wrote.
