We know that the worst thing that the Covid19 pandemic has done is bring pain to millions of people around the world. So many people have since died because of the pandemic and some continue to die even to this day.
In the South African context, covid19 jas exposed many things and one of the things was that our government has been incompetent for many years now and it was only then that we started seeing it. The health system and the education sector have proven that this country is far behind and not because there are no resources, but mainly because of corruption. The South African politicians looted the money even during the pandemic when the money was supposed to assist the poor people in this country.
In some areas, school infrastructure is none existence but here you get the department that uses million on sanitizing empty classes.
Just now we were told that schools are ready to go on a full-time basis and classes are back to normal. We know that we still have to maintain a social distancing of 1m apart but that is just not the case in some of the schools in this country. Some learners are more than 60 in a class. Some are sitting four on a desk while some are sitting down because there are no more chairs. Even some of the chairs being used are not in good condition. The desks are broken. But we are told that things are back to normal.
The teacher who made the video is now appealing to get help because this is just too much. One person being responsible for 67 learners all at once is just not normal. She also says that people will now be saying that she is not doing her job even in this kind of condition.
This is why the likes of Angie Motshekga should just retire and go rest. In 2022 we can not have learners who are sitting on the floor during class. It is just not acceptable.
