Why FA Might Be Unfair To Refuse Chelsea From Wearing The Golden World Champions Patch On EPL Shirts

The Chelsea Football Club had a very wonderful and happy night yesterday, as they made history by winning the long anticipated FIFA Club World Cup, following a 2:1 defeat against Palmeiras. This victory qualifies them to wear a golden world champions patch on their shirts, in their subsequent matches.

But there have been rumours that the Champions might be denied the right to wear the golden badge on their premier league jerseys, according to premier league rules. The reason for this speculation is due to the EPL rules that forbids any mid-season changes to the kits already used.

It would be recalled that in 2019, Liverpool were allowed to wear the golden badge in their next Premier League game, after they won the same trophy. Note that this doesn’t mean that they can’t use it in UEFA Champions League. They have the right to wear it even in all their Champions League games but they would need a proper permission from FA, before they can wear it in any Premier League game.

Reasons why FA should allow Chelsea to wear the golden badge in EPL, even if it’s once:

Just two years ago, Liverpool were allowed to wear the golden badge in their next Premier League game even with the existing rule and it would be unfair to deny Chelsea the same privilege after they have won the FIFA Club World Cup this year.

Also it would be an honour to the club and also to the English Premier League (EPL), as they have globally represented the league so well. Chelsea deserve a warm treat and welcome by FA for such outstanding success to emerge as the best in the whole world.
