MEC for community safety in Gauteng, Faith Mazibuko has revealed that the department has discovered extremely dangerous contraband at Gauteng schools.
Though she did not name the schools she did show the contraband which includes a machete, a butcher knife, a dagger with thick edges, needles, drugs and used condom wrappers.
This contraband show that schools which should be safe and healthy environments for learning and child development have become dangerous dens for violent crimes and brothels for sex. The government and teachers are fighting a battle they should not be fighting.
One wonders how parents are going to feel after seeing that. No one wants to send their child to school for them to be stabbed by a butcher knife or hacked by a machete. No one wants to send their children to an environment that will teach them to be violent criminals or drug addicts.
What makes these children bring this weapons to school? Where do they get the access and how do we as a society get our children to become better adults?
We have it all to do.
