President Cyril Ramaphosa has woken up this morning in a somber mood after the family of one of his most trusted allies in the ANC-led tripartite alliance was bereaved.

Ramaphosa took to microblogging site Twitter to confirm the fall of an Iroko Tree, Graham Mzwandile Losi, the father of COSATU president, Zingiswa Losi.
The president did not provide intimate details regarding what might have been the cause of Mr. Losi’s death, but he expressed his deepest sadness and commiserated with the family at this difficult time. The 86-years old KwaZakhele born former debt collector leaves behind 9 children.
“Received the sad news about the passing of uTata uMzwandile Losi, father of President of @_cosatu Ms Zingiswa Losi. We extend our deepest condolences to the Losi family, and we wish them strength during this difficult time,” Ramaphosa posted on his official twitter account.

It is not clear why the president saw it worthwhile to officially communicate the passing away of Mr. Losi considering that there is no tangible evidence suggesting that he participated in the struggle, but Zingiswa has stated before that her family was politically conscientious, hence she became conscientized at a relatively young age.

In any way, it could also mean Ramaphosa is demonstrably showing solidarity to Zingiswa whom he has made a great alliance, politically.
The duo is expected to help each other as they did at the Nasrec Elective conference, when the ANC holds its 55th national elective conference in December.

Losi whom the Ramaphosa faction endorsed for the deputy-secretary general position only to lose to the incumbent, Jessie Duarte, is expected to throw her hat into the race once more and hopefully this time around she would successful as Duarte is expected to retire.
Details pertaining to the memorial service and subsequently the funeral were not communicated.
