Why does it feel like being famous comes at a hefty price? People who are regarded by many as celebrities are dying almost everyday here in South Africa. If they do not pass away due to corona virus they get killed by monsters who find pleasure in spilling other people’s blood.
Mzansi is shocked to hear that the late Linda Mkhize’s brother DJ Citi Lyts lost his life at 12h30 on 14 February 2022. He was shot on Monday in Dube, Soweto by a group of armed men who were driving in a silver VW Polo. Sandile Mkhize aka DJ Citi Lyts was with his friends when he got shot.
When paramedics got to the scene Sandile was certified dead. Friends and family believe that the DJ and producer died in what is believed to be an execution. The motive for his killing is unknown but an investigation has been launched and police are on a manhunt for the suspects who murdered Sandile.
It was Valentine’s day on 14 February, the day that lovers get to spend quality time with each other. The DJ’s girlfriend was supposed to be having a great time with him, but due to unforeseen circumstances she was coerced to spend this day shedding tears.
DJ Citi Lyts made a lot of difference in the hop hop industry. He produced hits for numerous artists, but now that he’s gone it will not be the same without him anymore.
Sandile Mkhize started his career as a DJ and F-Eezy’s hypeman. He was part of artists who were signed under Ambitious Entertainment but he later left this production and pursued his solo career.
People need to unite and stop killing one another. The people that get killed all the time have families to take care of. Their kids will become destitutes and have no one to feed them because some of these entertainers that get killed are breadwinners.
