The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been handed a strong opposition on what he posted on his official Facebook wall today.Â
He made a clear information on a proposed policy for the youth dubbed “YouStart” which is an initiative primarily for the youth of the country where they can have access to funds in starting up their own business.Â
However, the president didn’t get the kind of response and reactions everyone was hoping for, Ghanaians believe he’s not been fair to them in his promises and campaign projects he made known to them.
With comments pinned under the president’s post, it’s a clear indication Ghanaians aren’t in support of this initiative.Â
They believe whosoever signs unto this initiative will end up like the National Builders Corps popularly known as [NABCO] that has been constantly on the neck of the president to pay them their arrears for so many months.Â
Ghanaians have made known of their displeasure towards the president’s post and I have collated a few of them below:
•Mr. President, with all due respect, I don’t trust you again on anything that has to do with flagship policies. All of a sudden you have forgotten about NABCO cohorts after the 2020 elections.Â
•All pro-poor policies introduced by successive governments in this country over the years were designed and crafted for CL&S. A typical example is the Cocoa Scholarship meant for children of cocoa farmers has been taken over by other people.Â
•Bawumia and Alan shouldn’t worry themselves cos they’ll end up in opposition. If you won’t pay NABCO trainees, we thank you for the opportunity given but we’ll also remember you for the pains we’re going through today. All of a sudden, you stopped talking about the nation’s builder’s corps.
•Nana, can you please listen to the cry of Ghanaians about the E-Levy. We know you listen to the cries of Ghanaians so please listen to our cry about the E-Levy.
