Mafe demands Ramaphosa to resign, Chris Hani’s murderer be released, and R1 500 grant for the unemployed
State Prosecutor Adv Menigo says IO Theron interviewed Mafe following his arrest at Cape Town Police Station.
Mafe there allegedly admitted to setting Parliament alight because:
1. He wants President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign.
2. Janusz Waluś be released from prison, as he did not kill Chris Hani, but blamed Ramaphosa.
3. Mafe also demanded a R1500 unemployment grant be paid to the unemployed.
4. That no State of the Nation Address be held this year…Mafe referred to SONA during questioning as State of the Nonsense Address.
The state then says Mafe said he burnt down parliament so there could not be a State of the Nation in 2022. Which he referred to it as the ‘State of the Nonsense’ address. After seeing a video of parliament on fire, Mafe slapped his chest and said. ‘That was Christmas’ (referring to himself), according to the state.
When asked of being homeless by the State Prosecutor Advocate Mervyn Menigo: “any statement that you are a homeless person is incorrect?”
Mafe: it seems you’re repeating the same thing?
Menigo: not true.
Mafe: Everyone knows my address, they even took photos – something like that, I don’t want to comment all the time.
Menigo also asked Mafe if he’s familiar with the Venstersdorp area, Mafe said yes – owners of the farms there are his friends, Eugene Terre’Blanche when he was still alive.
Mafe says he wants convicted murderer Janusz Waluś to be released from prison on the same day the late former President Nelson Mandela was released from incarceration at Robben Island.
The State claims that Mafe admitted that he bought petrol by R10 at Belville Garage station that he used to set Parliamentalight. Interesting developments! #ZandileMafe
The state continues, ”The video footage we found of parliament shows how what we believe is you was arrested as they exited parliament as they exited through the parliament window & police members jumped on you. They found you in possession of kettle, cutlery, shoes.
“The person wearing clothes that looked exactly the same as the clothes you were wearing when you were arrested is seen setting fire in parliament, using paper and boxes dabbed in petrol and dropping it into the National Assembly. The person was walking around with petrol.”
State prosecutor puts it to Zandile Mafe that in his confession he said he will continue to do this if his demands are not met. State says so why should the state not oppose bail it believes he is a threat.
