” This Is Senseless, They Must Be Arrested ” – Mzansi Angered By This Video

When President Cyril Ramaphosa appeared at the Zondo Commission, he mentioned that the government spends a premium on Black firms for services rendered, things that they are capable of doing themselves.

In essence, they could pay as much as R75 for a glass for a single event, of which they could pay way less if the food was prepared in the office and not outsourced.

Tender corruption has supported the development of many Black entrepreneurs, and the expenditure on these firms through public services jobs and tenders in what is called BBBEE has enriched many people fraudulently.

Report

In a video shared by former NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema, a group of workers is seen working on a huge pothole, with one of them inside, digging out for something.

Close to him is a TLB which was helping in draining out the water. However, what has been noticed is that each time the TLB carries out the water, it went back inside the pothole, meaning that the workers were doing nothing in fixing the pothole.

This has angered the masses, who are accusing the construction of misusing its resources and its intentions to overcharge the government for the TLB and the time spent on fixing the pothole when in fact they were just passing time and doing nothing.

According to the public, buckets would have been a better solution, or a pump to drain the water to another direction and they still do not understand what the man inside the pothole was doing except swimming in the muddy water.

Author’s Opinion

Class inequalities within the Black community are driven by the government through the ever-expanding wage bill and declining services. In essence, allocations towards community assets have declined because the share of the public sector wage is not different from robbing one person to pay another at the expense of the poor.

The social wage is falling behind whilst the lifestyle of tenderpreneurs is not negatively affected by economic shocks such as Covid-19 induced lockdowns.

The biggest debacle in this narrative is that Tenderpreneurs, known as black diamonds at some point, couldn’t invest their funds, their billions into supporting the economy at all.

They instead squandered easy money in German machines, expensive attires, and extended hotel stays instead of putting up investments that could help the economy.
