Here is why you are not being called for interviews. Stop adding these things to your C.V ||OPINION

How many times have you sent out your curriculum vitae in hopes of getting employed but you never get the call to go for an interview? Well, it’s said that a recruiter will spend about six seconds scanning through your resume and there are some things that they are looking for, that will probably make an applicant stand out from the other applicants.

A lot of people tend to include redundant information on their C.V that makes look like it was made by a child, and that causes the recruiter to just scan through and immediately consider your application unsuccessful.

Well, here are some things you shouldn’t include in your C.V:

1. Your Age.

While it’s not necessarily a bad thing to add your age to your resume, it surely doesn’t help either and in some cases, it even ruins your chances of getting that interview. Some recruiters will look at your age and assume that you are too young or too old to handle the position that you might be applying for.

2. Your Marital status.

Most recruiters don’t care if you’re single or married, so adding this information, will just hinder your chances of getting that position.

In positions where you’re required to put in long hours and sometimes even stay over at the office, if you added to your resume that your marital status is married then that has automatically disqualified you from the position.

3. Your C.V being two pages.

As I mentioned before a recruiter will spend about six seconds scanning through your resume and if it’s long do you think he/she will have the time to scan through two pages?

I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying “the longer the better”, well, when it comes to your C.V it should be the complete opposite of that.
