1. Warring Angels
This are among the high ranking angels whose main assignment is fighting and warring against demonic forces. The warring Angels help the believers to fight in the spirit against demons that may try to oppose like in the case of Daniel when Angel Michael had to come and help him in the book of Daniel Chapter 9. This types of Angels are very strong and massive.
The book of Watchers and the bible gives us the names of some of these angles and they include Angel Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Angel Uriel. In the book of Revelation 12:7-10 we also get to read about a war that was in heaven and the angels had to fight in two war fronts against the Satan.
2. Ministering Angels
The bible also refers to them as ministering spirit and their main area of assignment is to minister to people or rather helping them. Their main assignment is to help people with their needs here and there as commanded by God.
What is so unique about this angels is that they may sometimes not look like angels but just normal people. That is why the bible tells us in Hebrews 13:2 to be careful with strangers because some have entertained angels without knowing. In the Bible, people like Abraham, Lot and Manoah had encounters with ministering Angels who looked like humans. This were the type of Angels that attended to Jesus when he was at the garden of Gethsemane about to be betrayed.
3. Worship Angels
There are specific type of angels whose main assignment is to worship and exalt God on his throne. In this class of angels we have the seraphim and the Cherubim who are very huge and they also protect the throne of God. They worship God on his throne and call him Holy as their main assignment. They are so many and they also protect the glory of God.
4. Praise Angels
There are also praise angels whose assignment is in praising God through music. According to various Jewish and Christian literature, Archangel Sandalphon is in charge of music in heaven when it comes to praising God.
