A group of amabutho from Nkandla has burnt down a nightclub over too short mini skirts.
A group of local men in Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal have looted and burned down a local entertainment establishment. They are claiming that it encouraged women to night executives in the area. Scroll. Africa newspaper has been told that locals were angered by the clothes of the female staff members.
It is suspected that they thought the female uniforms which included mini-skirts were too short to warn by women. The vandalism is said to have been carried out by a group of local men who call themselves Izinsizwa zaseNtolwane (Men from Ntolwane) in the kwaNxamalala village. Ntolwane is the neighborhood of former president Jacob Zuma. Simphiwe Nduli who is the owner of Bizwayo Lifestyle Lounge told Scroll. Africa that his business is destroyed and he has been left with nothing. According to him this group came on 26 December and demanded that he leaves the area.
Nduli said they didn’t tell him why they wanted him gone. After they have left, he decided to go to chief Bheki Zuma who promised to arrange a meeting with these men so that they could come and explain why they wanted him to leave. But before the meeting, he received a phone call telling him to make sure that he was safe because the people were threatening to come and destroy his property. On Saturday (01 January 2022) they came in numbers singing the Amabutho songs with a lot of vulgarity and insults. They were led by the leader of izinsizwa, Dumakude Shange.
On their arrival they looted alcohol and meat worth R20,000, then they beat his staff member badly and took his cell phone before they burnt down the property. Bizwayo Lifestyle is the most famous club in kwaNxamalala village. It is frequented mostly visited by young people and also sometimes by large groups who arrive from out of town to visit Jacob Zuma. The Bizwayo Lifestyle is divided into four segments there is a bar, a car wash, shisanyama, and a temporary filling station. It is also used as a venue for talent searches.
The man who was suspected of masterminding the attack couldn’t be reached for comment as his cell phone was on voicemail. The police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele couldn’t confirm the motive behind the burning of the Bizwayo lifestyle lounge. Colonel Mbhele said a case of arson has been opened at Nkandla SAPS. It is suspected that on 1 January a group of people set alight the business premises at Ntolwane in the Nkandla area.
Nkandla people can’t be trusted at all if they can loot and burn down a place that opens job opportunities for their families just for a trivial issue. Their father, Jacob Zuma was suspected of planning it before going to prison, now a similar incident is seen from men in his neighborhood.
