We Will Not Dismiss It: Popular NPP Member Boldly Defends E-levy; Sends Simple Message To Ghanaians

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA) who is in charge of Finance and Administration has boldly done the unexpected after she boldly defended the most anticipated 2022 budget containing the E-levy aside sending another simple message to Ghanaians over the bill.

Speaking in a recent interview on Asaase Radio 99.5fm, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Akosua Manu took the privilege to express her immense disappointment in Ghanaians aside defending the implementation of the E-levy presented by the majority in parliament.

According to the Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority, Akosua Manu, the incumbent government is putting all hands on deck in other to improve upon the economy of the country and hence Ghanaians should embrace the E-levy and hence the minority in parliament will be convinced enough to accept the bill since the levy doubt be dismissed by the majority caucus.

“There is a threshold, beyond the Ghs 100, you exempt it. It has moved from 1.75% to 1.5%. This suggests that, debates and consensus are working and there is some flexibility going on. Let’s not dismiss it; we will not dismiss it. If we want to be progressive, let’s put it into context in the tones we are in and the global economy we are also placing”, Akosua Manu emphatically stated.

Speaking on the effect of the Covid19 pandemic on the economy of the country, the deputy CEO of NYA took the privilege to send another simple message to Ghanaians over the impact of politics on the E-levy.

“China is having issues so I would ask that, as much as we consider the times we are in. It’s not a punitive measure per say but it’s just a time that we have to make considerations and think beyond us here and scoring political points. The people will benefit from the policies that government continues to roll out”, Akosua Manu emphatically added.
