Two young men namely Rockson Yamag, 20 years and Theophilus Kussi, 22 years have been caught by residents in Akwatia as the two have been suspected to have been planning to murder a student. The two entered a bush near Akwatia Presby park and were allegedly about to kill a 10 years old student when a farmer by the name of Alhassan Fuseini caught them on his way to his farm.
Alhassan narrated to the police that he saw the little child lying on the ground as the two men had held him. The men were having a blade and bottle in their possession. Alhassan said he believes if he had not gone to rescue the little boy, Rockson and Theophilus would have slit his throat with the blade and poured his blood in the bottle.
Alhassan continued by saying that he saw Rockson and Theophilus looking around the area to see if no one was there before they entered the bush. He added that the two men were behaving like thieves and that got him suspicious and he followed them into the bush and caught them in the act. The two men have however denied the allegation that they were going to kill the little boy.
They explained to the Police that they entered the bush with a boy but they were going to collect scraps. Theophilus said to the Police that they are scrap collectors and the boy told them he knew a place where they could get lots of them and that he was only leading them to find scraps.
He continued that when they entered the bush, the boy suddenly fell and he came out to find help that was why there were seen looking around. They only needed help to carry the boy home. The two a currently in police custody at Akwatia helping with the investigation. The little boy is receiving treatment at St Dominic’s Hospital in Akwatia. Â
