Cleaning gutters is seen to many people as one of the worst and most embarrassing things a person can be asked to do. However, I don’t think this way because there are a number of people who clean gutters for a living and if not for those people, we would perpetually have clogged gutters.
Without further talk, checkout these photos of four celebrities who once had to clean gutters and why:
1. Cute Abiola
Cute Abiola, an online comedian, was detained by the Nigerian Navy last year for breaking the country’s social media regulations.
Finally, after Cute Abiola was released, a naval official named Saluman Dahun confirmed to the press that, while Cute Abiola had been released, he had been sentenced to one month of watching over people cleaning gutters in the Navy barrack.
2. Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen revealed that when he was growing up, he was poor and had to do all sorts of menial jobs in a bid to survive, cleaning gutters. The Super Eagles star said: I feel like these struggles helped me in life. I am grateful for where I am today because of what I’d been through, it shaped me into the man I am.
3. Atiku Abubakar Bagudu
If not for survival, as in the instance of Victor Osimhen, or as punishment, as in the case of Cute Abiola, the only other time you’ll find most celebrities cleaning gutters is during election campaigns. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi State, joined his entire cabinet in cleaning up drainages around Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
4. John Dumelo
During his campaign to gain the Ayawaso West seat for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ghanaian actor and Nigerian star John Dumelo also went to clean gutters.
