The University Association of Ghana (UTAG) has vowed not to call off the strike untill the government meet their demand. Though the National Labour Commission (NLA) last week declared the ongoing strike by the University Association of Ghana as illegal and therefore the Association needs to call it off. This follows the directive between the National Labour Commission (NLA) and the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) during a meeting on 17th January, 2021. The strike which has made a lot of students wanting while in the school is somehow worrying because most students do not know what to do while on campus.
According to a report, the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) is not willing to call off the strike despite the inconveniences the students are going through. In fact a lot people are calling on the behalf of the government for the Association to call off their strike but it seems their demand as required by them for their work is not in order. The UTAG strike has really proven how difficult it is when Teachers are not available in the lecture hall to teach students. A lot of students have been pleading for the lecturers to go back to the lecture halls and undertake their duties.
Many people are also pleading with the government to provide the needed condition for the UTAG in order for them to return to their normal duties. The UTAG strike has had a great impact on the students as to how to go about their learning schedule, because most Universities would be writing their examination next month and could affect them greatly. What is your suggestion about the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) not willing to call off the strike?
