A woman has narrates what she and her daughter went through when they went to the Nigerian passport office at Aluasa, Lagos to renew her daughter’s passport. According to the woman, they went to the passport office early in the morning, joined a queue, a few minutes to 6:00 PM, all of them were told to leave the office the office because it was time for the office to be closed.
Fortunately for the woman and her daughter, one of the officers told them to wait because they were the next to go and renew the passport. But one man at the gate started complaining that what the woman’s daughter was wearing is not acceptable at the office. According to the woman, her daughter was wearing a jumpsuit but he started harassing her daughter that she is not wearing a bra.
Then one of the officers told her to plead with the man so that he will allow them to go. She went ahead to plead with him but still, he insisted not to allow them to go to the office. The woman then asked him what he is saying is it in the constitution, she tried to take a photograph of him but the man got hold of her hand and twisted her arms. She got bruises on her arms and also experience pains in the hand. She said it was the people who were at the office who came to intervene for them.
