Meet the Dancing Referee Somo, who use his Dance Moves to Entertain Footballers and Fans

There is a saying that “whatever you do, do it well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom”. A professional firefighter who doubles as a referee has won the admiration of football lovers and fans with entertained and comic dance moves. In a viral video referee, Somo was seen spotted exhibiting his hilarious dancing skills while refereeing a football match.Alexander Coffie, popularly known as Somo de dancing referee, in an exclusive interview revealed that aside from refereeing, he works with the Ghana National Fire Service. He is also a goalkeeper and a barber.

Somo de dancing referee become popular after videos of him went viral on social media exhibiting his dancing moves to entertain fans during a community game. According to him, the first time he danced on the football pitch was a match he refereed between a second division team Attram and the Accra Great Olympics. In the first half, the score was 2 – 1 against Olympics. He notices that Great Olympics players were bored, so he asked the DJ to give him music to dance to reduce the pressure. “I entertain dem make dia heart come down, when I start dey dance dey all laugh, We joke for de park there so everybody make quiet” said Somo.He also revealed that he did not charge for a match, he does it for passion and so far he has refereed over a thousand matches now. He is married and blessed with three sets of twins (that is 6 children).
