The Ghana Medical Association has dissociated itself from the group of doctors known as Concern Ghanaian Doctors has kicked against mandatory COVID-19 vaccination in the country which they said is flawed and “based on skewed data.”
This follows the petition written to the government by the concerned drivers association not to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory in public and private institutions.
However, the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) said the petition was “misleading, unfortunate, and does not reflect the situation of covid-19 in the Ghanaian society.
“Data available to the GMA supports the efficacy and safety of all the COVID-19 vaccines currently registered and in use in Ghana,” the statement read
“The evidence that the vaccines reduce the incidence of critical illness, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission and deaths globally and in Ghana is undisputed,” the statement added.
It was announced that all persons are mandatory to inject the covid-19 vaccine before they are allowed to enter the country and was also indicated by the ministry of health a new directive for all persons to be vaccinated before they are allowed to enter any public premises.
