Favor can be define as approval, support for someone or something. It can also refer to an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. The devine favor of God, the prayer topic of many Christians who in one way or the other hoping for a break through of some kind as wait on God. There are numerous scriptures that talks about the favor of God in some occurrences in the bible. We see God elevating some characters in the bible from zero to hero, turn around among others. Today we shall look at some Bible Verses that talks about the favor of God.
1. Psalms 90:17 And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful! Anything that humanity does deserves the approval of God. The approval of God paves way for the successful implementation of your action plans. For the favor of God is a validation for our works on earth. We shall continue to look at other favors from God in scripture.
2. Psalms 106:4 Remember me, lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me. This is the prayer of the psalmist desiring the favor of God at the time when all hope is lost, where no one seems to remember him. If you have been forgotten it takes only the favor of God for you to be located or remembered.
3. Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. From the definition of favor above, our salvation is something that we don’t deserve but out of kindness from God we found ourselves enjoying the unmerited salvation of God. It is not by good deeds that we are saved but by God’s own devine appointment.
4. Proverbs 3:34: Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. The Lord exalts the humble as a sign of His grace to bring honor to His name. God is the decider of whom He wants to show favor. The scorners receives scornful acts from God and the humble he shows favor. Let us humble ourselves today to obtain favor from God.
5. Proverbs 3:3-4 Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
6. 1 Samuel 2:26 Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew taller and grew in favor with the lord and with the people.
7. Luke 2:52 Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.
The fifth to seventh scriptures reveal to us that we can find favor with God and people. You can receive the approval of God and Men. From today you must start praying the prayer for a devine favor in your business, academic, marriage and entire life. Seek the favor of God today.
