Your “Lack” Of Respect And Lies Are Contributing To The Incessant Strikes In Ghana- Sammy Gyamfi

University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has announced that they are on strike. This strike action is as a result of the inability of the government to fulfil the needs of the lecturers of the various public universities. After they announced that they are on strike, a lot of Ghanaians have started talking.

The latest person to add up his voice to this trending issue is Sammy Gyamfi of the National Democratic Congress.

Earlier today, Sammy Gyamfi was featured on the morning programme, “Maakye” on Kessben FM where he talked about the incessant strikes in Ghana. When asked about what he thinks about the strikes in Ghana, Sammy Gyamfi stated that the numerous strikes in Ghana are as a result of the lack of respect and lies on the part of the government to workers in Ghana.

Sammy Gyamfi alleged that Akuffo-Addo told the University lecturers that he will be increasing their salaries only for it to be one of his numerous lies. He stated that, food and fuel prices are always rising but salaries does not correspond to the increase so that is why workers are angry and want to go on strike.
