Journalism is described as the fourth estate of the realm and the function of this profession includes: informing, educating, and entertaining the general public. This noble career has been the main source of updating the masses and the right channel for expressing themselves.
However, freedom of speech doesn’t guarantee that people can make any statement against the State and go scot-free. Guinea as a country is been ruled by a soldier and no one will ever report you for expressing something within the confines of the family, office, or even university. As long as you’re not printing or otherwise publicizing your views, no one in the government will care.
