Fan base, sometimes referred to as fandom and fan army is a relatively new concept in the scheme of Ghana Music.
In Ghana, fan bases have been noted to fan wars on social media and also noted for engaging in negative publicity and embarking on agenda setting, just to dim the shine of artistes who aren’t their favourites.
Despite those negatives, fan armies in Ghana have been known to create groups that supports each other seek to the welfare of its members.
Some of the names of fan bases associated with some artistes in Ghana are Shatta Movement, BHIM Nation, Sarknation, Meditants, Shay Gang, Slay Nation and many more.
The numbers were extracted from the three most popular social media apps, Twitter and Instagram on Sunday 9th January 2022.
Below is the rank of the biggest fan army in Ghana according to social media numbers and visibility.
1. Sarkodie 
Sarknation is a fan base associated with Sarkodie. He has 4.8 million Twitter followers. His official verified Twitter handle is @sarkodie. He also has 4.7 million Instagram followers. He is ranked as the number one Ghanaian musician with most followers.
2. Shatta Movement: 
Shatta Movement is the fan base of African Dancehall King Shatta Wale. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr known by his stage name Shatta Wale is the second most followed Ghanaian celebrity on Twitter with 3.2 Million followers and 3.5 million Instagram followers. He is second on the list.
3. BHIM Nation:
BHIM Nation is associated with Stoneboy. He has 3.8 million followers on Instagram, his real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla. He also has 2.6 million followers on twitter. He is the third musician with the higher number of fan base.
4. Shay Gang: 
Shay Gang is associated with singer Wendy Shay. The singer has 2.6 million followers on Instagram. She has 1million followers on twitter.
5. Slay Nation: 
Slay Nation fan base is associated with Efya. She is one of the most popular female Ghanaian celebrities on Twitter. The singer, songwriter, and actress have 1.8 million followers on Twitter. Efya also has 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
