Stephen Alhassan has lost his 200 acres rice farm in Agege in Kintampo and is blaming the Government for this happening. The rice farm caught fire and all his farm produce have been destroyed. He narrated that he was not on the farm at that time but his big brother who was there said the fire started in a bush at a distance.
However, they did not think the fire would get into their farms at such a short moment. Stephen then blamed this occurrence on the government for not helping them with the necessary equipment to harvest the rice.
He said the rice was ready to be harvested but the harvester provided by the district got spoilt on the way and they had to use their hands to do the work. This delayed the harvest and now the fire has gotten rid of it.

The Kintampo North District Agric Director, Mr Simon Yambore that this is an annual thing threat that affects rice productivity. He added that cattle attack also destroys rice farms in the area a lot. Â
