The board chairman of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom Otchere is being dragged on social media by some National Democratic Congress (NDC) activists for what is now a fact of spending an outrageous amount of fund in erecting four Christmas trees at terminal-3.Â
The four (4) Christmas chandeliers, according to evidence shown by these activists, cost a total Ghc 84,000 (A unit cost of Ghc 21,000). The information, which started tickling in two days ago, did not get the needed attention until the Good Evening Ghana show host decided to respond this morning.Â
However, Paul in his response literally confirmed the amount alleged by his accusers. In what is supposed to be a fact stating response, the Metro TV broadcaster ended exposing himself.Â
He said, among many other things; “FACT : The other inspirations were provided by Favors and Arts for a total cost of GHC 84,000 out of which GHC 50,000 was obtained via sponsorship”.
Many have therefore wondered what the response was all about, since he has confirmed the allegations. Netizens are now wondering why a struggling GACL will embark on such a profligate spending in the name of Christmas inspiration.Â
Paul Adom Otchere served at the National Communication Authority in the first term of the NPP, and was made the Board chair of GACL recently by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
