Doyin Okupe attends Peter Obi’s Port Harcourt rally despite stepping down from the campaign council

Labour Party Presidential Campaign DG – Heritage Times”/>Doctor Doyin Okupe who was at the fore-front of Peter Obi presidential campaign but had to step down as chairman of the PCC after a court case on corruption went against him seems to be keeping faith with Mr. Peter Obi and the Labour Party. He was spotted in Port Harcourt as Labour Party took their presidential campaign to Nyesom Wike’s state

Doyin Okupe did not perform any official duties on purpose but was apparently trying to support his principal same way his principal has stood with him despite the court conviction which is subject to appeals. Similarly, it is obvious that Dr Okupe’s swift recusal of himself from Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council was his way of supporting the campaign and at least not standing it its way.

In the Port Harcourt campaign today in Port Harcourt Peter and Paul Okoye made good their promise to perform in the campaign and they thrilled the crowd with some of their hit songs. No one is certain how Rivers State is going to vote in the Presidential Election next February even though it has been a PDP state since 1999. Nyesom Wike’s reluctance to throw his weight behind Atiku seems to be giving other parties a chance to do quite well in the oil-rich state.
