The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has said he has always wanted to be president. To this end, Atiku vowed to keep fighting until he was elected president of Nigeria. The PDP presidential candidate told the Financial Times that as long as he is still alive and healthy, he will continue to pursue his goal. Atiku declared, “I will continue pursuing it as long as I’m alive, strong, and healthy.”
One of the leading candidates vying for the presidency in 2023 is the former vice president. Since 1992, when he resigned to make way for MKO Abiola, it’s widely believed that the Waziri of Adamawa has been running for president. President Muhammadu Buhari defeated him in the most recent presidential election to win reelection. However, there are still conflicting opinions surrounding Atiku’s bid for the presidency in 2023; some people think he has no chance, while others think he is more likely to succeed.
