Argentina Is Hoping To Follow The Same Path That Spain Followed To World Cup Glory In 2010

It’s not about how you started, it’s about how well finished. This is what the Argentina National Team would be hoping to be a part of their story as they aim for the grand prize which is the Gold medal in the final of the FIFA World Cup against France on Sunday evening.

Argentina didn’t exactly had a great start in Qatar. The Reigning Copa America Champion were stunned by a low-ranked team in FIFA World ranking Saudi Arabia in their opener in Qatar. Lionel Messi opened the scoreline of the game but Saudi Arabia staged a dramatic comeback as they scored 2 goals in the second half.

For a moment, Argentina’s favorite status in Qatar and their huge aspiration of winning the World Cup faced a serious doubt but the team came back stronger as they bagged consecutive wins in their remaining two games of the group stage to reach the knockout rounds.

This was just how it was for 2010 World Champion Spain in South Africa. The La Roja lost their opener to Switzerland before they eventually fight their way to the title beating Portugal, Germany and Netherlands along the way to the World conquest.
