Hpv is mostly transmitted during vaginal, anal or oral sex with an infected person. HPV is very different from HIV and HSV (herpes). 1. Symptoms of hpv
One major symptom of HPV is appearance of genital warts which can be big, small, flat or raised. They may appear as small bumps or group of bumps in your genitals which may have cauliflower shape.
Hpv Vaccines
You can receive a vaccine to protect against HPV in three shots. The second shot is given a month or two after the first shot while the third shot comes after the first shot. The last shot is given six months after the second shot.
The Centre for Diseases Control recommends that people get the vaccines within these age categories;
1. Boys and girls should be vaccinated at ages 11 or 12.
2. Women who didn’t get the vaccines as children should be vaccinated when they are 26 years of age.
3. Men who didn’t get vaccinated as children can get vaccinated through the age of 21
4. Men who have intimacy with men or males with compromised immune systems like HIV patients are to be vaccinated through the age of 26.
