Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori resumes training with South African side Orlando Pirates

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori has returned to training with his South African side Orlando Pirates after recovering from the injury that threatened his appearance at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The shot-stopper, trained with his team as they prepare for their next league game in the South African championship.

Ofori’s return to the pitch ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, will be welcome news to the technical handlers of Ghana with the competition less than a month away.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to name a provisional squad of about 35 players for the tournament in Qatar in November and December on Wednesday.

The former Ghana international will later trim down the squad to 26 for the event to be held in Asia for the second time.

Ofori, is hoping to be included in the selection for the World Cup with the player aiming to be Ghana’s number one at the event.

The Black Stars are in a tough group alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Pool H.

Ghana, will open their campaign against the Portuguese on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay in subsequent games.
