Leaving PDP Will Be A Political Suicide for Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Ikpeazu And Others – Dele Momodu

A former PDP presidential candidate and journalist, Dele Momodu has revealed that Nyesom Wike and his allies’ departure from PDP presidential committee will be a political suicide for them.He made this disclosure while speaking with Arise TV in an interview.

Recall that ever since Atiku Abubakar was chosen as the PDP’s presidential candidate in May, the party has been in disarray.

Many expected that Wike would be selected as the party’s vice-presidential candidate, but Atiku chose Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of the Delta, as his running mate instead.

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo, Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue, and former communication minister Jerry Gana are among the Rivers governor’s loyalists who say that Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, must quit as a prerequisite for peace in the region.

Wike’s supporters declared on Wednesday that they would boycott the PDP’s presidential primary unless the national chairman of the party was ousted.

Momodu responded to the predicament by stating that Wike and his allies had the right to leave the party but still maintained that they have so much to gain owing to the fact that the decision won’t be a good for them. Why pleading at the same time, he stated;

“I want to make another formal plea to them. They have every right to go if they so choose. Nobody can prevent a grown man from making a choice, according to Momodu.

However if in anyway they decide to give support to a candidate from another party, that is OK. But in all honesty, I believe it would be political suicide for them.
